God’s Promises for 2008

Someone sent us this list of precious promises for 2008.

Here are twelve promises for us to claim in the year 2008:

1.  God’s Presence — “I will never leave thee.”  Hebrews 13:5

2.  God’s Protection — I am thy shield”  Genesis 15:1

3.  God’s Power — “I will strengthen thee.”  Isaiah 41:10

4.  God’s Provision — “I will help thee.”  Isaiah 41:10

5.  God’s Leading — “And when He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them.”  John 10:4

6.  God’s Purposes — “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil.” Jeremiah 29:11

7.  God’s Rest — “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

8.  God’s Cleansing — “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

9.  God’s Goodness — “No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11

10.  God’s Faithfulness — “The Lord will not forsake His people for His great name’s sake.” I Samuel 12:22

Christmas with Pastor Zenildo and Edineira

What a wonderful Christmas we had with Pastor Zenildo and Edineia.  They are pastoring the church in Guaiba and have seen a year of fruitful ministry.  As soon as they arrived at our apartement we headed to a German city about two hours away and enjoyed the sights of all the beautiful christmas decorations and tourist shops. We packed a lunch and enjoyed our time together.  Christmas eve we had a brazilian cookout and even cooked a piece of Salmon on the open pit.  We were stuffed.  On Christmas morning we made them an all-American breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and orange juice.  They had never eaten such a combination together.  There were lots of laughs and coments about american food.  They wondered if alot of americans were fat!  We ended our time together reading the Christmas story and praying for thier church and ours.
