Jon and Patty,
I really like your website. We at Calvary Baptist in Huntsville, AL will be praying for your safe return to Brazil. What an honor to serve the majestic Creator-God of the universe. Dr. Bob Jones, Sr used to tell us that “the test of our character is what it takes to stop us.” Souls for Jesus is our battle cry!

Brad

Hi Jon and Patty,

My name is Brad, and I am a missionary in a sensitive part of S. America (will leave out precise details for security reasons). Have heard several versions of the story of what happened to the Greenwoods floating around email land, so was wondering if you could confirm some details for me? Do you know if they were actually deported back to the USA? And do you happen to know the charges that were levelled against them? I also heard a rumor that the govt. said they didn’t have the right type of visa to minister there? Can you confirm that?

Thanks so much for your help.

In Christ,

Brad

Thank you for this website…I will pass this on to others. We are praying much for you here and do appreciate your faithfulness…as your Father always said…”we are called to be faithful”. I thank God for his wisdom and leadership and for Sam Martinez (your father Patty) and his heart for the Lord and missions. I believe they are both looking over the ramparts of Heaven and saying, “we are with you Patty and Jon.”

Love your Mother and Daniel

My wife was googleing my name, not sure why, you guys came up. Thought I might be able to help some, maybe.

On a tottally unrelated note to brasil or meeting places, do you know where your hutchins line is from? my grandfather wrote quite a few books on the hutchins line in america and I am just wondering where you fit in.

Good luck on getting your name pronounced right, ratinho was one of my favorites in terms of nick names based on the last name.

Hope that helps.
John

Charlie A. Salcedo

Dear Pastor and Mrs. Hutchins,
Hello. My name is Charlie Salcedo. You do not know me nor have you met me before. I learned of your website and missionary service through a mutual friend-Tatiana Cordeiro. The reason for my writing you is that I learned from Tati that your wife is Colombian. I am as well (actually I was born in Ft. Lauderdale and raised in Miami, FL-my parents are the real Colombians). I was wondering if you have any contacts of fellow missionaries, be they nationals (Brasilian or otherwise), that are serving in the country of Colombia. I’m particularly looking for anyone in the coastal city of Barranquilla, in the interior town of Bucaramanga, and the river town of Barrancabermeja. I don’t know if y’all would know anyone in any of those towns or not. If you do, I would greatly appreciate their contact information. If you don’t but happen to have contact information for a missionary to Colombia, be they national (Brasilian or otherwise), I would greatly appreciate that as well. My contact information is listed on your leave a comment form.
Additionally, I was wondering if you audio record any of your sermons. I’ve searched your site and found printed sermons in pdf format. Those are very helpful. The reason for my asking is that I’m slowly learning Portuguese and having audio recordings to which to listen are helpful. I do listen to BBN and that aids, but I am desiring to expand my expressiveness and having a variety of speakers to which to listen is helpful. Thank you for your time Sir.
sincerely,
Charlie A. Salcedo Acts20:21

Hi Jon & Patty …

You may not remember me, but I go to Heritage FWB in Laconia, NH. I’ve been wanting to contact you for a while, but I seem to have an outdated email address for you.

I just want you to know that I’m praying for you, and would love to be kept up-to-date on your needs, activities, etc.

Please email me back with your current email address when you get a chance.

In the meantime, I’ll be praying for God’s will to be done in Brazil!
